Hi I'm not sure how to adjust that pto cable. Does that cable need to come off? I see what looks like a clip on the the transmission side of the cable but I don't want to mess it up if I don't have to. I'm also reading about plastic at the hand lever end - should I just take the cover off and check that? should I lube it? any help thanks much. it's a 2003 2WD if it matters. I got it used and didn't get a book.

Pictures might help. Not sure what you mean by a cable. My pto shaft has a small chain that helps suspend it, but it is not a necessary part.
I wouldn't remove anything unless you are 100% sure it should be removed.
