adjust shfter lever

When I shift into forward it slips out of gear. Items done.

Changed clutch, and adjusted
shifter arm pin broke and hole is larger on the knuckle. Put larger shaft into hole. With a little play.

Problem is that the shifter does not have enough forward movement to lock the gear in.

? If I adjust the shfter cable to make it tighter will it take in the play, so the shifter will be able to go into gear?

not sure on these (never had mine off) but on most gear shifters there are stop bolts for forward and aft movement that stops the shifter from pushing the forks HARD into place this tops bent or worn shift forks or other issues as well..
