Adj\'ing the 60\" MMM on a BX...
Greetings.
Just spent the better part of the last couple of hrs mounting and adj'ing the RCK60B-22BX MMM to my BX23 and I think I just may have it adj'ed up to where it's level but it sure took alot of adj'ing!
So much so that it got me to wondering if anyone else had to adj there's similarly..
The MMM's left side was higher than the right side by almost 3/4 inch. The right side blade tip measurement was close enough to the depth guage setting so I used the right side as the reference point.
The front was lower than the rear by almost a 1/2 inch measured blade tip to blade tip facing fore & aft (parallel).
To bring the front & rear to within specs I had to adj the two front links until the diff was roughly 1/4". I adj'ed to raise the front.
To level the MMM side to side I turned the left side lift link down 2 turns and the right side lift link up one turn.
In the MMM manual it indicates to get approx 1/32 to 3/32" gap between the right lift arm and the frame stop at the highest position. Now I haven't figured out how too get that measurement so I just used the ole eyeball and I figure those specs are just about the same as the proverbial "hair" so thats about where it's at. I had to turn the rear link adj nut approx 8 turns in to get there.
The gap on the left side I figure is nearly 1/2" or so now but since theres no mention of the left side gap, I'm not worried about it.
The MMM just about lifts equally now but there seems to be a little play on the right side still. In other words, theres a slight amount of travel on the right side before it starts to lift along w/the left side. It's almost as if the right side drops a hair more than the left and I'm not sure if this is normal or not but the bottom line is that it's now within specs and ready to go!
Anyone else encounter having to adj their MMM this much?
It does run very smooth with very little vibration and it's not nearly as loud as I suspected it would be btw.... Now wheres that spring grass /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
Oh and one more question, I noticed that the PTO coupler collar would lock back makeing it easier to install. Once I got it up onto the PTO securely I barely had to push it to get it to snap shut. I re-did it a couple times with similar results. Is this normal?
