Adding Trailer Brakes

Neat... you fabbed up an electric over hydraulic brake system.

So what did you do about the one axle running in the driveline? How was it lubricated?

I realize it will have a bearing and grease seal on the tire/hub end.

The hub ends of the axle housing already had nice seals to keep the wheel bearing lube where it belonged. so the LH Axle shaft just went from the hub to the center just like normal, and it plugged into the little adapter that I made from the differential side gear. Since the electric brake hub that was mounted in the huge opening left by dropping out the gears, was mounted in a bushing by the stub axle that it came with, it supported the splined end of the truck axle shaft nicely. On the RH side I just capped the hub using the flange from the cast-off axle. This system uses the energy of the rotating axle to provide the power to set the hydraulic brakes.
