Adding secondary hydraulics to tractor

I have a TC29D New Holland tractor. I have purchased a 3pt hitch log splitter which I thought was PTO driven but is run by the tractor's hydraulics. I don't have secondary hydraulics in the back of the tractor, but I do have a front loader. Can I add a hydraulic splitter from the front of the tractor and just use long hoses to the back of the tractor and make it work? Or what would be the cheapest way to make my new purchase work? Thanks.

The "cheapest" way is two long hoses from two of the FEL ports, Usually the dump/curl circuit is used so you can still raise and lower the loader. Then you will have to "bungee cord" the joystick over so the fluid will flow to the splitter.

Bear in mind that on a NH tractor, while you are powering the splitter with the FEL hydraulics or rear remote hydraulics, the 3PH lift will be bypassed. Make sure it's at the correct height before engaging the FEL joystick and attaching the bungee to hold it in place. If you move the 3PH lever while the FEL joystick is bungeed over, the 3PH may jump when you remove the bungee and let the joystick go back to neutral. Make sure nobody is standing around the splitter when you do this so they will not be in danger of being hit by the 3PH jumping.

BTW: Rear remotes are the easiest to hook up a splitter or other hydraulic attachment, but on your tractor, the first one is about $600 and the second one is about $500. That's probably more than you paid for the entire log-splitter.
