I have a 135 Perkins Diesel with no power steering and only a 3 point lift.

I would like to use this tractor to rake hay with and have the other baling behind it, but the rake I bought needs 1 remote.

I have read the manual, and it appears that you can take a hydraulic line off the 3 point hitch somewhere, but not sure if this is advisable, or economically feasible.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

so you need a double acting remote (to open and close the rake)?

it is doable, it is adviseable if you dont want to go fast ( the pump in there is slow)
here is a good looking setup, but I dont know where you could get it though.

the more standard way (for double acting remotes) is to get one of these which when you flip the little lever puts power to the remote, however it is only single acting. to make it useful for a double acting setup you would need another valve (like this ) which would take the power from the splitter shown above and let you use it to extend or retract the rake.

note: there is another one on ebay that might do both in one... (it is here) however the seller doesnt say if it is a single acting or double acting control. I would ask before getting the other one.

I've got a complete kit (sold by TISCO) sitting in my shop, that fits 135/150/165/230/235/240/245/250/255's. It includes all fittings, hoses, brackets, isolator valve, quick-couplers, Cross valve, and instructions. It taps into the existing internal pump. TISCO sold them 4 years ago for a little over $400. I bought this kit at a dealer who was going out of business, with plans on using it. I stumbled on to a complete OEM set-up shortly after buying the kit and never used it. If you're interested, I'll sell the kit for $300 (shipping inc in continental US) PM me if you're interested.

Wow thank you both aczlan and farmwithjunk.

It seems to me that the kit that farmwithjunk has will come out about the same as either of the other solutions, so I will gladly take you up on your offer.

Let me know figure out how to email you and get the details etc. to send the money.

Great board, watched it for a while, but never felt I could contribute much, but when this question came up, I joined and got some great information.

Thanks all.

There's a PM in your mailbox!

Glad to have another Massey fan on here too. Welcome to TBN. It's a great place to hang out. EVERYONE'S opinion is valued.

I second what Bill(FWJ) just said. All opinions are welcome.

Post some pics when you install the kit, before and after.

Are kit's like that still available??

Thanks.

Last time I checked, the kit was (is) still available through TISCO.

Well, I have received the kit and studied it and looks fairly straightforward to install. The instructions are fairly sparse, but this is probably pretty basic, but new to me. What is the procedure for bleeding air from the system after this installation?

Any hints would be helpful.

Regards, Terry
