Once I get my tractor back from getting it's new engine (due to it trying to break in half while lifting snow with the 7308 FEL) I want to make a subframe to link engine subframe to the loader arms. I have the idea in my head.. Just wondering if anyone has any advice, yea or nay, to the wisdom or safety of welding onto things like the loader mount arms, or the engine subframe itself.. I have no problem making it bolt on, but I have a feeling it would be much stronger if I could weld at least part of it on..

I'll get you a picture of the TC35d / 17la setup.

My understanding is that welds to create a bolt on point might be best. Drilling what is there is probably beyond specs of arms.

Man I envy a good welder; the person that is.

Where was the breakpoint in relation to the loader mount?

btw

were the cylinders "jacking". that would create a vibration in the system, rather than a push. Cylinders should be pretty straight to upgrade. if the pump can handle it

If it means anything. I have an ironworker friend who builds the steel substructure for skyscrapers who claims bolting is always stronger than welding.
