Adding liquid fertilizer to planter

Hey guys! I have a John Deere 246/247 Two Row Corn Planter than I'm rehabbing for use this planting season. Other than some surface rust, it's in great shape. The fertilizer boxes have lol since rusted off and the whole assembly is gone. I'm pretty handy so I was wondering if anyone can give me some ideas of how I can add a small (less than 20 gallon probably) liquid fertilizer tank and sprayers to this old workhorse. If anyone knows where I can find the materials as well, I'm not on a super tight budget but would prefer not to spent more than I bought the planter for. Lol.

You will find dry fertilizer easier to work with if you can find the pieces to replace it.
Liquid will require a shank to open a separate furrow next to the seed furrow then a covering disk and a packing wheel.
If the liquid makes contact with your seed it usually burns it, if injected into the ground without covering and sealing it evaporates to the atmosphere.

Also you might have difficulty storing and transporting liquid fertilizer.

Since your planting in rows are you going to cultivate your plots for weed control , if so you could get a cultivator with side dresser to apply your fertilizer.

Negative. Im that bad guy that's using RR corn and beans. So ill just be spraying.
