Has anyone added an electrical circuit to a JD late model tractor that used the fuse box?
I did a preliminary look at the fuse box (did not take it apart) and it appeared that the spare unused slots have an electrode on one side but not the other side. It would appear that one would have to add half of the fuse holder(electrode) for the downstream part of the circuit and then fuse appropriately.
Of course I could just in-line fuse the new circuit but was interested in using the spare slots in the box to keep it neat and easy for fuse access.
Anyone done this and how much of a pain was it?

Adding a circuit to do what? Heavy loads? How about a HD relay with a fused supply off the main post at the starter. Wire the HD relay to an engine oil pressure switch so the circuit is only energized when the motor is running. Supplies from the key switch tend to cause dead batteries at the hands of some operators.

I like your idea of adding circuits to the fuse box. Start by determining if the terminals have power with key ON and, no power with the key OFF. Then check with your dealer about buying the correct terminal for the fuse box. I'll bet the terminals are designed to snap in from the back.

I had to add one in doing the eh 3rd remote on a 4120. It was a JD kit so the harness already had the terminal. There is a little clip you pull out, insert the terminal, then push the clip back in to secure it.

Does your parts list break out the part number for the terminal that fits the box or is it part of a wire harness not a separate part number?

It is very likely that JD did not design and build the fuse box. Look on Waytek's site or Del City's site and see if you can find a match to your fuse box. Then you can order all the terminals you want. A picture of the fuse box would help.
