Adding a slipper clutch to a Betstco Flail Mower?

Shear bolts are quick and easy. They’re just grade #2 bolts, right?
Grade 5
Careful DarkHelmet. Grade #2 is almost always what the mfg recommends. Grade #5 is what people use by preference for less shearing and a cleaner shear when it happens . But spec is #2 almost always on Cat 1 implements.

I have a Betstco flail as well. I find that the shear bolt tends to give if the PTO shaft isn't straight, it's pretty finicky that way. Definitely disengage the PTO before raising. There's one spot in one of my fields where there's a little dip and I would break the shear bolt every time going over it. I don't have any solutions. I tried Betstco support but they didn't have any ideas either.

Thanks for that info. I didn't disengage when it was raised and I think I engaged when I had it up a bit so maybe that's why it broke.
