Anyone out there added a power plug? Like a cigerette lighter. Want to add one on the left side under the so-called glove box. Any idea's or sorce of parts.

Any automotive parts store, Tractor Supply, Home improvement stores usually have all the parts you will need.

You can put in a single outlet or buy a "triple" outlet for a little more either way, it isn't much more than connecting the power lead and making a good ground attachment.

Make sure you use heavy enough wire gauge to support whatever load may go through and that the outlet is rated for it. If it doesn't have its own fuse protection- add an in line fuse.

Your choice on wiring directly to battery or trying to tie into an appropriate circuit that is on the key switch.

In general you can go as simple or fancy as you want.

How many amps should I rate this for?

It should be based on the maximum load you intend it to handle. Remember that all wiring and components need to be rated higher than the maximum load and the fuse itself shouldn't be more than 10% safety margin above the maximum load.

I think car "cigarette" lighters are 15 amps.

Sounds like fun. What do you intend to hook up?

I am going to do the same thing. Haven't sat down and thought it out yet. Will put it in same spot. Haven't mapped out power source yet.

I don't know about the DKs... But the CKs have a 15A or 20A slot on the fuse panel for customer use. Run it off that... Just not sure where the wire goes to it... I'm sure the wiring diagram will show you though...

I keep saying I'm going to put one in.........know how...have most of the parts..........?!?!?!

I really want to get it in before winter so i can use one of the Harbor Freight 12 volt heater/defrosters. Maybe this year my toes won't freeze.

And that would be one of those blessings you mention...

I went and bought the same power plug that my Simplicity has, I will mount this plug on the console from the left side of the machine. The console with the lttle storage compartment. I will power it from the trailer harness from the same side of the machine as James did.
