I'm thinking of replacing the original oil filter set-up on my IH 354 with a spin on type as I find the paper element inside the steel canister to be very messy to remove and fiddly to re-install. I assume the spin on filter would be more convenient. Has anybody tried this kit?

I can't say factually it's the same, but I bought one for (my wife's cousin next door) 444 and it looks just like it.

If it's the same (and it's probably been 15 years, I don't recall any issues putting it on.

Hi Richard,
Thank you for the reply. I suppose the spin-on filters your wife's cousin uses have a built in bypass if the filter clogs or is the bypass mechanism in the base? Can you recommend a suitable spin-on filter?

I have no idea of the filters. If memory serves me, when I bought the adapter, I asked what should be used with it. Presuming they told me correctly, I said "good, give me two of them" and I have no clue what it is/was.
