Ad Blockers

After lurking for several years I officially joined the forum yesterday. The ads immediately went away, well mostly.

??? I have Verizon and Yahoo email also. I don't get ads with my email. This was odd enough that I just went and checked. I run on an iPhone 7 using ios 13.3, I've had my yahoo account for a very long time as well. I have gotten messages to "upgrade" to the Yahoo app, but haven't seen any reason to since my email works just fine as it is. Maybe I'm just running the "basic email that is a pain to use" and don't know any better. I'll have to remember to ask my kids about it.

I too run the Yahoo email app on my IOS devices and don't have ads either. This issue is with the Yahoo web based email that I use on my computer.

Verizon Media is the owner now of Yahoo and things are changing. Apparently, they are trying to maximize their revenue stream through ads or forcing users to go with their subscription service. If you don't allow ads in your ad blocker, you get forced to the poor basic email.
