Looks to me like you are doing quite well. I just figure learning to do the dirt work gives me more seat time. As long as the tractor is moving my wife thinks I am doing something right. Of course when I turn it off and put the grandaughter on it for a quick picture she approves of that too. Thanks for sharing the great pictures.

Soon you will be one with your tractor/FEL.

Great pics,

Cityboyfarmer-

Great action photos. Beautiful family and tractors. What more could you want from life?

It looks to be quite warm there, is it?

Now that's a wicked nice machine. How long do you go between waxing inside the bucket? /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
I have hair like yours, take it from me, wear a cap in the sun.
Holding a grade will come with practice but your doing just fine.
Both of your photo's are full of nice things.
You are a lucky man indeed. My dog won't hunt.
Best of luck,
Martin

Bone,

Thanks!

Yes, it gets quite warm here. Getting a whole bunch of rain lately. Got a nice mud puddle where I was working now /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

I'm suprised your wife lets you drive that tractor that close to the house. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

You need a toothbar on that loader if you're going to be moving dirt......... I'm a recent convert.

Nice tractor. grading looks pretty good. I'm also learning to operate my FEL. Had an unbalance load in the bucket today and when I picked it up lifted one rear wheel off the ground about 3 feet - wont do that again. Cleaning up an old abandoned farm, large dirt pile had sod over a foot thick - don't think I could have broken it up without the toothbar.
Attaching a few pics.

* I try to avoid an unbalanced load by keeping a fairly even spread clear across the bucket.
I also try to center the heavy part of the load in the middle of the bucket
rather than on either end.

If one side looks heavier than the other I operate the FEL slower and keep the bucket as close to the ground as possible.
I also slow down and watch where all 4 tires are going in order to keep from going through a high or low spot.

Also never work on a hill with the heavy side of the FEL bucket on the down hill side.

Penokee, the black lab sends a woof back to your yellow lab. Great dogs!

A toothbar is definately on my "to-get" list. The more I surf this site the more stuff I see I want!

A lot of folks here have had loader scares. Glad nobody has told an injury story yet. Looks like the manufacturers would put together a safety video and have the dealers send it home with the new owners.
