I have Firefox 2.0. I have been using the Forecastfox Enhanced extension for a couple days now. I really like it and recommend it to anyone who uses Firefox. However, I have noticed that the AccuWeather radar picks up stuff that others don't. I also have WeatherBug. I compare the AW radar to WeatherBug's and the radar for the local news station. For anyone who is familiar with AccuWeather, what are your thoughts?

You get frequent popups from WeatherBug? That's odd. I only get one and that isn't very often.

Forecastfox Enhanced is an extension for Firefox. It can be found at Mozilla's extension website.

I used it for a few hours and liked it just fine but for some reason I lost the right side of every web page including the scroll bar. I couldn't uninstall it I had to do a system recovery to a point a month ago and then reinstalled Firefox 2. It does have some neat new things like full time spell check on every web page. You can now close tabs with one click on the new X they put on each tab. I'm just staying away from those extensions.

Forecastfox did that? When you open the Options and go to the Extended Forecast, how many days ahead is it set? I initially wanted it to show 7 days ahead, but it pushed half the screen to the right. I had to lower the number.

Mornin JayC,
I use Accuweather and WeatherBug, but like one of the other posters mentioned, the weatherbug can get annoying when you get a stretch of bad weather ! Other than that, I like the radar on Accuweather :)

If all else fails, look out the window !:)

That may be what happened to mine I think I had it set for seven days also.

I agree with Doc Bob on weather underground (www.wunderground.com), I've got my station feeding to them and they have both the NEXRAD radar and the regional. You can set the coordinates for your location and it shows up on the radar map. I'm out in the sticks, the local forecasts are more for Houston and are very seldom accurate for my area. Weather underground gives me the tools (and the other private stations in my area) to be a lot more accurate than the local guys.

My vote goes to wunderground.com too. Their NEXRAD radar shows everything happening. If there's a storm or storms in the area, you can track it's exact course.

I ordered the little Oregon Scientific WMR100 and should be here tomorrow. Have you heard anything good/bad about that model? Which station do you have?

I've got the Oregon Scientific WMR 968 and I've been pretty happy with it. I looked up the WMR 100...I don't know anything about it. It looks like a good unit though, they make a good product. I've also got the internet edition of the software, but I'm not too sure what thet gets you now days. It does allow me to use Rapid Fire on my internet feed (big deal!?!?!).

If you put in your zip code in wunderground, the bottom of the page will list all of the private stations in your area.

Thanks Mike. The Wmr100 might be new so no real eval on the net yet.
I did check for stations close to me which is what pushed me over the edge on ordering one. Closest to me is 20 mi away and it's in the valley whereas I'm in the mountains.
All I see the internet version does is lets you upload to the WU site so, I splurged and got it. Should be delivered today :)

It's a handy thing to have so hopefully you'll get a lot of use out of it. A couple of the people around me also have lightning detectors which are handy along with the radar. I just watch theirs. Here's the national site:
