Accidental Shooting

We got home from vacation and wife texted a girl at church to see how her cancer stricken sister-in-law was doing. When she texted back she also commented that her husband was not doing well. Found out that he had been shot while we were on vacation. First info was attempted suicide because he shot himself. Surgeon came out of operating room and told his wife that it was not a suicide because they always shoot themselves in the head or heart. This guy shot himself in the abdomen. Hit his liver, gall bladder, and small intestines. He is now out of the Critical Intensive Care Unit and in a regular ICU and off ventilator. Apparently it was an accidental discharge for some reason. He is talking but I have no more information.

Guys be careful out there handling your weapons. The only other thing I have heard is that he was racking the slide when it happened. His wife found him in the floor when she got home. Just a little later and he would have bled out. He is still fighting infections but will eventually get to come home. I doubt if he will ever get back to normal.

I will update as I hear more.
