Did it all myself and it was very hard

Mossroad,I can't imagine doing it alone! The wall alone must weigh 400lbs!At the end of day2 of set up, with everything ready for the liner, we noticed we had 4 up rights unaccounted for!!! I went over the instructions and all I could find was a picture of the pool with these 4 up rights circled. It sad 'see note 2'. Well there is no note 2 anywhere in the instructions!!! Last night, after working on the pool for 13 hours straight, I managed to get one of them attached using cut down bolts, a stake to wedge back the wall form the sill plate and needle nose pliers to hold the bolts in place . After that, the kids and I were so tired we decided to quit until the next day. Now I need to cut down 12 more bolts and get those 3 other uprights on Then it is time to unroll the liner. Wish me luck! This has been an incredibly tough project! I have been working out there every day since June 19th. My kids have been a great help (11 and 13). I feel bad, we are almost ready to add water and they both are leaving for camp tomorrow :-( . I told them it would be all ready when they came back next week.In the picture you can see 4 buttresses, The missing uprights go on either end of them. Well, Back to it!David

I know mine was very heavy( 24' round). 17 posts. I used heavy fence T posts pounded in on the inside to help me hold up the wall while I unrolled it and I used every other outside post. It took me about a day to set the wall in the track, as I recall.

When we eventually move, I would like to get another pool. We like ours very much. I will definately pay someone to install it. The liner did not turn out as well as I would have liked. We ended up with some wrinlkles, which turned out to be a good thing, as it gave some slack when the moles undermined it /w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif.

That rock wall looks great. I wish we had those rocks around here for landscaping. It looks like you are doing a great job. Keep the pictures coming. We all appreciate them /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Thanks. I had another frustrating day at the pool site today! After fixing a bunch of glitches, 5 of us tried to install the liner. So much for the nice flat troweled, sand surface/w3tcompact/icons/frown.gif We finally got the bead in the bead liner all the way around, put in 2" of H2O and realized we had left a large piece of cardboard under it/w3tcompact/icons/shocked.gif We unhooked one long side and had my 13 year old crawl under and retrieve it while I pulled up on the liner. Got that settled and had the kids spend the next 2 hrs pulling back wrinkles. The bottom was perfect/w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif However now the sides were out of whack/w3tcompact/icons/mad.gifI tried pulling one way then another. No luck. So i thought I might as well try to put the top coping on. More problems/w3tcompact/icons/crazy.gif. Because the liner is too tight on one side and too loose on the other, the tops of the uprights on the round ends are out of whack/w3tcompact/icons/frown.gif I also noticed for the first time, that the uprights on the round ends have a top and bottom! There is a screw hole about 10" down from the top to attach the coping covers. Well, it is draining now and I will try again tomorrow/w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif I hate to think what is going to happen when I try to install th skimmer, return and filter/w3tcompact/icons/shocked.gifHere is a pict of the wrinkled wall and one of the wrinkle removers/w3tcompact/icons/smile.gifWish me luck.David

Cute kids David! A couple of additional thoughts though, although probably way late. I noticed the liner seems rather loose, even with the top of the decorative liner aligned and that your lower wall corner don't seem to have any coping or rounded edging to keep the liner from getting pinched or too tight in the corner. On my pool we added an earthen band, about 5 inches out and also up to esentially prove a rounded corner. Should the bottom of the pool been deeper in the center to take out the wrinkles? Unless the liner is stretched, I don't think there is any way you'll get the wrinkles out, in fact more will probably appear as the liner stretches with age. Good luck.

djradz,Thanks for the advice. You were right the liner was not lined up right. I ended up draining the 3" of water that was in it and completely readjusted the liner. I got it in with out a wrinkle. However, all the work moving the liner around ruined the flat sand bottom I had made. It now has a lot of small impressions from feet and knees. I do have a 6" cove built up around the bottom edge of the pool. I took me one month and a day from start to finish. It was a much bigger job than I barganed for. Now, though, the water is cool and crystal clear and we are enjoying it very much. Here is a pict of the finished pool. I have since finished the landscaping as well.

Nice looking job you did there David. I can see where I woudl be spending my free time. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif Looks like a nice runway and then big plunge too but of course wouldn't recommend doing it. Not only that but it probably is farther from the bank than it looks in the pic and would end up really hurting. LOL.

Great job. When you're lounging in that nice water I'll bet you're dreaming up (maybe with a bit of help from the wife) the next project for the pool area. I can see a nice big deck to put those lounge chairs and table and umbrella on and watch the kids swim. The real nice thing about all the follow-on projects is that the pool is there for a quick dip to cool off. Enjoy!

John, You are right on the money. Next summer's project is a deck around the pool. I haven't quite decided how big it will be yet because once I put up the deck, my taxes go up. So much for "Live Free or Die" NH.

David, now that your done, what do you think about the pool supplier, quality of the pool and the instructions/manual for putting it up? Would you buy from them next week if you had it to do all over again?
