Aboristesite problems

Anyone having trouble jumping on this site? Can get to the homepage but when trying to get particular forums I get "cannot find server" message. I know they were attacked by adware this past week but now I cannot navigate at all.

Thanks Scooby. I tried it and it stated that its down for everybody which is puzzling since some guys state they are not having trouble.

Wonder if they are pulling from their cache as opposed to getting it from AS's servers?

Down for Everyone is usually pretty accurate. Watch out for typos though.

I don't go to arborsite often, but on another forum, some web geek guys mentioned that the site has had a lot of hacks recently. And that the owners aren't too quick to get things fixed.

Over the last few days, it's been screwed up, be glad when it's back up so I can see the hillbilly and redneck pictures from the WKY GTG. I'm going through terrible withdrawal symptoms, been checking CL a lot more often for chainsaws.

Agreed... It's been way too quiet. I would say we're "still hacked" rather than "hacked again".



If you want to disable JavaScript in Chrome...

Open Chrome
Go to settings by clicking on the button under the RED X (looks like 3 horizontal lines)
Go to settings
Then, at the bottom of the settings page, click on the blue text "Show advanced settings"
Next, Click on the "Content settings" button
Lastly, "Do not allow any site to run JavaScript"

Looks like their main forum page has been taken over, but not the individual pages, if you use the dropdown "quick navigation" on the bottom right you can change forums.

I was doing some Googling and AS kept popping up the search but everytime I clicked on the link it would not work. The link Newbury posted worked though.

I have no issues browsing the site right now. That's going through the first google result, not my bookmark.

Im using both adblockplus and NoScript.

Since the site has been under attack, Im not going to try with those disabled to test. I suggest that anybody having issues should "upgrade" to firefox with ABP and NS. Not just for AS but browsing in general, ads suck

Last time I went to arboristsite, it had a message something like: "this site has been hacked. the administrators need to step up their security!" and there was no content. blarg.

A new hacker setting. Now you can bring up the home page but that is all, any other choice results in a blank page.

Seems that someone has injected malicious java script into several areas that keeps replicating itself somehow or is being reloaded by someone. One way to fix the problem is to run "no script" and disable scripting on the home page, has worked for me for the last week or so. It also stops a lot of other sites from loading adds and you can stop Google from tracking your every move. AdBlock plus is another tool that stops the annoying adds from loading and makes pages run a lot faster not having to load all those adds.

I seem or was told I have an "Ad blocker" built in to this computer from Mac yet that ad that runs over Arboriste site is free to frolic about as long as it wants on my set. Anybody can tell me anything about a computer and I just say "uh huh" with a dumb ***** grin on my face that matches my brain.
