A wee too much tractor

I had a friend with family out there. Hard to believe, but they'd burn 2-300 gallons of diesel in each of them things each day they were out there. Wouldn't want to foot the bill for that.

Get a lot more work done with less operating costs with one tractor that burns 300gallons a day. vs six tractors that burn 50 gallons a day.

We have loads of dual and a few triple JD's. What there is most of are tracked JD's, Cat's & CaseIH. Massive acres of wheat fields to the west and south of my location. Probably the largest operation in this area is west of my location. Its owned/operated by the Hutterites. They are similar to the Mennonites & Amish but are a branch of the Anabaptists. I've been to their compounds and seen a lot of their farm equipment. Their fields are so large that a single tractor & moldboard plow can continue in one direction in a field for more than eight hours in a straight line and not reach the end of the field.
Makes you feel VERY SMALL when you observe an operation such as this.

They do have tracked John Deere's and tracked Caterpillar's also. And they work this ground all at once with these. Still the 8970 with triples was the biggest beast that I have ever seen. My neighbor went to see Big Bud once. Big Bud works an acre a minute. It's a pleasurable drive to work when they are working this ground in the spring. YouTube just doesn't do this stuff justice.
