I think that the problem with the seat is that the hydraulic cylinder doesn't have enough power to keep the seat in the proper position. I weight about 200 lbs and on steep side slopes the seat simply doesn't have the power to maintain level. If I "help" it maintains level.

The guy at the city service center did say something about that cylinder, but I couldn't remember just what he said the problem was.

Hmmm... I was 270 at my heaviest earlier this year (Down to 210 as of today in 4 months, woo hoo, only 40 more to go) and I did not have the seat issue you describe. My problem is that the seat is slow to react.

I look at the merc switches and they look really rough.

OK, so what method did you use to lose the weight? I need to lose 40-50 pounds myself.

I was out this morning for awhile and decided to stop by the city service center again. BIG SURPRISE! The lady in the office checked her computer and it showed the last maintenance was done on that PT-1850 in November, 2007 (10 months ago) and at that time it had 122 hours on it. Then I went out and looked at the hour meter myself today and it shows 140.7. I would have never thought about the city putting that few hours on it. Of course, they do have lots of other mowing equipment. I saw a Skag Tiger that he said was used for the rough mowing before they got the Power-Trac and they have a couple of Husky mowers that he thinks highly of.

It is not easy. I am on a medically supervised diet. It is basically a liquid diet, heavily supervised as I am on 500 calories a day (well, I am barely able to manage on 700 but they want me at 500). Those 500 calories are like 5 shakes.

It is tough, but not impossible. The people around me and the stress I am under with work make it much harder than it should be. This diet is not for everyone (no diet is). The idea is to get you to the wieght you want to be quickly, and then teach you to eat properly.

I went camping this weekend, went off the diet, gained 5 lbs...

Of course I forgot the classic joke

"I lost 150 lbs of ugly fat"

How you ask?

"I got a divorce"

Ouch, that diet doesn't sound like much fun.

I am operating on relatively smooth ground. Perhaps the issue you are experiencing is a result of relatively fast travel over very rough ground--the mercury switches don't appear to have much damping and I can imagine that rough ground could result in false contact.

Roughly 20 hours a year. Not much usage for an expensive piece of equipment. I would have expected a lot more.
