I bought these pipe brackets at McMaster Carr

To mount this box right here:

I've looked at a great many places trying to find a good spot, and I think this looks good and is convenient.

That should work... ammo cans make good tool boxes! Locations vary, mine is on the fender... loader bracket where you're mounting yours is used up by the riser for the roll cage I built for mine.

Welp, I got it installed and it's not as slick as I'd hoped. It's really tight where the lid won't completely open, but worse, it's so tight that removing the loader and reinstalling it may damage the box if I'm not very careful.

I'm glad I have it there for extra storage, but it ain't perfect.

What if you rotate it towards the back so that you can open it a little more before you hit your loader arm?
If that doesn't work, you might need a 30cal ammo can instead of a 50cal ammo can, they are significantly skinnier.

I don't really mind the opening issue so much, and I never take off my loader, but I'm sure I will someday, so it will be sketchy I'm sure, when that time comes. I have plenty of smaller cans, they just aren't big enough for what I want to carry.

Do you know about any rifle mounts for tractors? I wouldn't mind carrying around an ak when I want.

Ok, I'm curious about strapping up with the ak while on the tractor. To bust a cap into some coyote you happen upon or what?

I like ak's. Hogs can be deadly, I understand. But really I just like having my rifle, or one of them nearby.

I watch this one documentary years ago about Israeli kibbutzes, they'd go out plowing a field with a rifle slung over their shoulder. More or less had to, in that place/time.
