Hello All,
Sorry for the Hiatus. Daughter got married, work and taking care of aging parent takes much of my time these days.
Have about 120 hours (I know, don't use her enough) on my 5035 since purchasing in March 2011. She has been flawless and has never failed me during the last two miserable winters.
I have a problem and the dealer is draggin his feet on resolving a bit of an intermittent problem. Here's my story...
Soon after I received my 5035 (had about 11 hours on her so a bit of a demo model I'd say, but great price!) I noticed when working the loader hard moving gravel and stone and earth, about 20 hours into owner ship (about 30 hours on meter) when moving the bucket/loader to the empty position while, either full or empty, and the engine at idle, the movement would stop and hesitate. Only happens during empty or only slightly filled. And only seems to occur when I worked the tractor hard. Never happens in the cold or when plowing, of course I am not angling the plow blade like I would bucket. I brought it up to the salesman who sold it to me within a month of purchase and he said to keep an eye on it and we'll dig into it if it becomes a problem. It was very intermittent and I haven't worked the beast that hard since then so it was a non issue for a while..
Fast forward 3 years. The original salesman is gone, his replacement is a smart young guy who is tractor savvy ( he builds serious tractor pull rigs) and he is trying to help me figure this out since the company owner is pulling back a bit since the original salesman didn't document my concerns and if there IS a problem with the pump and/or hydraulics, it could get expensive. The loader hesitation is more frequent now and happens once the rig is at operating temperature. I can "push" through the hesitation if I up throttle a bit, but that doesn't address what's causing the problem.
The new sales guy is leaving the company June 26th and I dread starting all over again with the company's owner since he is mainly a salesman and not that technical. the new guy is working with me but his availablility is limited this time of year and my work schedule/family comittments isn't helping the cause. He has recommended that when the problem occurs, to use an infrared temp sensor to sample the valve box the joystick connects to, and the "In front Of", whatever the heck that is! (I looked in the manual, didn't see a reference to that term.) and make note of the temps.
btw: There is also a slight leak coming from the rear hydraulics. Thought maybe it was allowing air in the system, but be advised, the hydraulic oil level has never been low and I check it before each use. I had the 50 hour required maintenance done at about 52 hours at a cost of $700+.
I plan on doing some digging of silt-impregnated gravel tomorrow and will have my temp sensor handy, but thought I would finally bounce this off of our community and get some input. Probably should have done this before now! :mur:
Anyone out there have an issues like this with their 4035/5035's? The fix? How Can I verify the cause and be ready to let the company owner know he is responsible for the repair since the problem started within a month of my purchase? And what does the "in front of" mean??:duh: I'm to the point where I think I may get it stuck to me before this is all said and done.
Thank you all for your help in advance.
