Hello All,

Sorry for the Hiatus. Daughter got married, work and taking care of aging parent takes much of my time these days.

Have about 120 hours (I know, don't use her enough) on my 5035 since purchasing in March 2011. She has been flawless and has never failed me during the last two miserable winters.

I have a problem and the dealer is draggin his feet on resolving a bit of an intermittent problem. Here's my story...

Soon after I received my 5035 (had about 11 hours on her so a bit of a demo model I'd say, but great price!) I noticed when working the loader hard moving gravel and stone and earth, about 20 hours into owner ship (about 30 hours on meter) when moving the bucket/loader to the empty position while, either full or empty, and the engine at idle, the movement would stop and hesitate. Only happens during empty or only slightly filled. And only seems to occur when I worked the tractor hard. Never happens in the cold or when plowing, of course I am not angling the plow blade like I would bucket. I brought it up to the salesman who sold it to me within a month of purchase and he said to keep an eye on it and we'll dig into it if it becomes a problem. It was very intermittent and I haven't worked the beast that hard since then so it was a non issue for a while..

Fast forward 3 years. The original salesman is gone, his replacement is a smart young guy who is tractor savvy ( he builds serious tractor pull rigs) and he is trying to help me figure this out since the company owner is pulling back a bit since the original salesman didn't document my concerns and if there IS a problem with the pump and/or hydraulics, it could get expensive. The loader hesitation is more frequent now and happens once the rig is at operating temperature. I can "push" through the hesitation if I up throttle a bit, but that doesn't address what's causing the problem.

The new sales guy is leaving the company June 26th and I dread starting all over again with the company's owner since he is mainly a salesman and not that technical. the new guy is working with me but his availablility is limited this time of year and my work schedule/family comittments isn't helping the cause. He has recommended that when the problem occurs, to use an infrared temp sensor to sample the valve box the joystick connects to, and the "In front Of", whatever the heck that is! (I looked in the manual, didn't see a reference to that term.) and make note of the temps.

btw: There is also a slight leak coming from the rear hydraulics. Thought maybe it was allowing air in the system, but be advised, the hydraulic oil level has never been low and I check it before each use. I had the 50 hour required maintenance done at about 52 hours at a cost of $700+.

I plan on doing some digging of silt-impregnated gravel tomorrow and will have my temp sensor handy, but thought I would finally bounce this off of our community and get some input. Probably should have done this before now! :mur:

Anyone out there have an issues like this with their 4035/5035's? The fix? How Can I verify the cause and be ready to let the company owner know he is responsible for the repair since the problem started within a month of my purchase? And what does the "in front of" mean??:duh: I'm to the point where I think I may get it stuck to me before this is all said and done.

Thank you all for your help in advance.

:drink:

Welcome back...

Sorry I'm not much help for your issue, but you're practically a neighbor so i had to chime in. I work just up the road on rt12 in Plainfield CT. Live just over the RI border in West Greenwich.

Curious what dealer you used for your Mahindra. Myself and a few other guys on here bought from Dubay in Danielson. If you haven't already, it might be worth a phone call to see if they can help you out. Great group of people over there.

Do you have the rear PTO raised all the way to the top?

On my Max25 if the PTO handle is all the way to the top the FEL practically operates backwards. Keeping it about halfway down solves the issue. I need to set the top bolt for the PTO down one of these days.

I to have been away for a while with family issues and travel. Just saw you post. I was using my 5035 yesterday and was having the same exact problem! I have had the tractor a couple of months and have about 19 hours on it. Yesterday was building a retaining wall, doing back fill and noticed mine stopping and not wanting to roll down to dump. Don't have a clue, but would be very interested in a solution. I will talk to my dealer when I get a chance and see what they say.

Hey, check out my post titled "cheap hydraulic hoses 5035" I noticed the same problem with the bucket acting herky jerky when dumping as well. I will pay more attention today or tomorrow and let you know if the problem went away after my recent repairs. It would make sense that air could be drawn in through small cracks in the hydraulic lines to cause that stutter. It happens more often the longer you run the tractor because more air gets drawn in. Check your hoses, especially around bends to see if you have cracks.

I have a 5035 HST with about 110 hours on it. Had the same problems with the loader, finally got the dealer to look at it and they had to change out the loader control valve. Over all I am very happy with mine, but we had to replace the electronic starting module (I guess that's what it is called) at 25 hours, the fuel lines at 50 hours, hydraulic banjo fitting for the loader at 75 hours and the loader valve at 95 hours. All covered by warranty just a pain in the........Good luck

Just curious as to how the dealer came to the conclusion that the loader control valve was bad?? Being a owner of a 5035 myself AND experiencing this same problem quit often. I haven't brought this to their attention yet but plan on it soon enough. Mine seems to act up as soon as I dump the bucket and attempt to curl it back. Glad i found this thread!

I have no idea how they decided it was the control valve. I haven't had any issues since with the loader. Now the "electronic starting module" (again SWAG on the right name) is a pain in the @$$. The wait light likes to come on, the RPM won't register. Time for another phone call. I hate electronics....

Interesting. I experienced the hour meter not functioning for about 6-7 hrs not long ago. Its worked like a charm since that mishap. Only electrical issues ive encountered, knock on wood.

Interesting. Have 355 hours on mine so far and no issues with slow/hesitating hydraulics. Have had to tighten a few fitting and replace a couple of hoses due to wear and tear. I use my grapple and bucket quite often. As has been mentioned here before, maybe try disconnecting the QD's, cleaning them and re-connecting them back up. Have done that on mine just for preventive maintenance/cleanup.
