I already did do a search on the proper way to cut down a tree just to check myself. Obviously I should have done that search ( before ) I cut the tree down..

I saw the word stupidity used a lot. Doesn't make me feel to good if you know what I am saying. .

Of course it did show guys cutting down trees and taking out their neighbors decks and such. I must admit It was hard not to laugh. At least I only damaged my house and not the guys next door..

Yeah. A neighbor of a friend of mine decided to cut down a very short but very stout walnut tree in their alley many years ago. When it came down it pulled the power lines out of half a dozen houses, took out a few poles and smashed his garage, too.

Hey, it happens.

When my dad first built his house, he was burning leaves and caught the yard on fire. He couldn't put it out and my mom ran all the way to the end of the block to pull the fire box. The fire department came and saved the house. My mom started complaining about how far away the pull box was. The next day the fire chief came out and supervised the installation of a pull box right at the end of our driveway and made some comments to the neighbors about stupid people. She was mortified!

About a year ago, a pro was hired to take down a dead tree in Maryland. He and his crew managed to drop it on an above ground pool uphill of the house. The water took out sliding glass doors on both sides and deposited the furniture in the back lawn. Lessons in tree felling, hydraulics, and I assume, insurance.

That is the sort of thing that would make a great video.

Maybe they could do it again, just for the chance of youtube fame?
