Couple years ago a vulture landed on my house deck and was pecking at the windows to get in. Needless to say memories of Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds came to mind. Figured that was not normal behavior for a vulture and was probably sick so solved the problem with a 12 GA.
I was out near the tractor shed Wednesday and heard a tapping noise, turned out a dang woodpecker was trying to make hole in one of the poles. It's bad enough that the carpenter bees like to bore holes in them, but a woodpecker!?:yell:
The home we had before this one was 400 ft up on a bluff wit a cantilevered deck on the upper level. One day my wife decides she's going to catch some rays Au Natural. Well she comes back in the house after an hour or so and tells me that all was going well until she thought a cloud had blocked the sun. Se opens her eyes and here's 3 turkey vultures circling over head. I told her she had to move from time to time because being a little thing she looked bite size to them.
I like the turkey vultures. We have a lot of them around here. We also have a lot of black vultures in this area. Black vultures are not so welcome around here.
