Are you paying the property taxes? Seems to me so long as you pay, there can't be a question of who owns it.
Aside from that I think you have a fair and equal exchange there. He put some thought into making it fair and he got it right. A dinner or something would be nice to do 'just because' but I don't see an obligation.
I think the only thing you might owe him is adequate notice if you ever decide to end the agreement. At least staying to the end of his harvest season obviously, and possibly to the end of a second season if he needs to recover significant costs. If this is making you nervous it might be a good idea to discuss what 'adequate notice' means to each of you before starting another year.
