My first post - I've been reading for a few months, and finally settled on a 7610 with MMM, LA352 FEL, 4' box blade, and boom pole. Thanks to everyone for helping me make such a well informed buying decision.

Tractor was delivered today and I have a few questions and observations:

1) Any tips on locking the mmm in the elevated position to allow use of the blade? I really struggled with lifting the thing high enough to place the pins, and struggled again to remove them. I was really regretting the mmm decision about halfway through this.
2) Removing the box from the 3ph was another exercise in the rougher parts of the English language. Any tips on this?
3) Any advice on the best position to place the box blade for leveling a gravel driveway?
4) The HST was the best idea anyone ever had.
5) Removing the FEL was easier that expected, but I haven't tried putting it back on yet.

Thanks again for all of the great posts that helped me pick the right tractor!

Welcome to TBN /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

1. If you raise the MMM all the way up and the holes don't line up so that you can pin up the MMM, you need to adjust the linkage for the MMM. There are instructions on how to do that in your MMM manual. I had a problem pinning my 72" MMM up on my B2910, so I rigged up a pair of gate latches to do the job a lot easier than the pins that Kubota uses.

2. If you can remove/reinstall the box blade on concrete, then you need to make a dolly to set in on. That will allow you to roll the BB into position very easily, and r&r the BB in less than a minute without any sweat or cuss words. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

3. There is no one best position for using the box blade. It takes lots of practice (ie. seat time /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif) to get good at it without leaving dips and hills. Just go slow, keep your eyes on the BB, and your hand on the position lever so you can make instant adjustments. When you think you have the dirt/gravel where you want it, extend the top link all the way out so that the rear blade of your BB is the only thing touching the ground. That will smooth everything up.

4. The FEL is right up there too. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

5. It goes on just as easy as it comes off. When I first started taking mine off, I laminated a copy of the instructions and hung them on the wall where I store my FEL. After a few times I didn't need it anymore, but at the beginning I used it for every step.

Have fun and be safe. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Thanks for the info. I didn't get a manual with my mmm - I'll need to go back to the dealer for that. Is the linkage in the front portion of the mower? Mine only raises to about 3 inches below the holes used for pinning it up. I had to lift it the rest of the way, which required two people, and a third to place the pins.

I managed to reattach the FEL with no problems in about 5 minutes. The box blade was another story, and the idea of placing it on something that rolls will make that much easier.

Thanks again for the help.

I haven't looked at a 7610, so I don't know how the linkage runs to the MMM. On my 2910 the adjustments are on 2 rods that run from the 3PH forward to the MMM area. The adjusting nuts are between the rear wheels. The easiest way to adjust them would be to block up the MMM so that it lines up with the pin-up holes, then run the nuts on the rods to take up the slack. Mine also has an adjustment for the front mount which attaches under the frame between the front tires. BUT, I would strongly recommend that you get a manual first as your setup may be different from mine. You might do a search on the internet for a PDF file manual that you can download. By the way, your dealer should have given you the manuals for the tractor, FEL, and MMM when you purchased the tractor. Good Luck /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Sounds like my mmm and yours are very similiar. I'm going to try adjusting the linkage today. I did get a manual with my FEL and the tractor, just not with the mmm. Thanks-

I have a 7610 w/ mmm. Mine pins up very easily. You must need an adjustment somewhere.

when the mmm is all the way up but not pinned, is it level? if the front of the mower is lower, then id bet the part that attaches to the front of the tractor is connected to the mmm incorrectly. (i did this the first time) /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

make sure the pins/bolts are the first to enter the grooves...not the part that looks like a handle.

attaching the bb will get easier with time.
