In NC, at the county jail.

There is a magistrate at the jail to verify probable cause for an arrest before a suspect is given a place to stay or bailed/bonded out.

I've been in jail in NC. I sure don't remember a magestrate.

I don't remember much except the smell.

It might have had something to do with that dui?

Grandma ran a candy store in Belfast. Grandpa worked at Harlan and wolfe, they build the titanic. No lawyers please!

I Found her old house once. Looked like a city in NE USA. Rainy, cold, wet. Brick row houses, kinda run down, hulk of a burned out bus on the front lawn of some big building. They had barbed wire around the police station.....not to keep people in, to keep people out!

Went golfing there a few times. First time in the early 90s. The day before we arrived the IRA? had just bombed the home of someone and 3 or 4 children were killed. That was not that long ago.
