Oil turning black: Diesel engines produce soot (think --mostly years ago-- of a big truck getting started from a stop); the oil is designed to capture & hold that soot in solution. That's why it gets black so quickly.

I was on my phone in bed last night, reading up on all that. Man, I'm so relieved, I though there was a problem! Actually, I learned some new things about regular gas engine oils as well while researching this. Knowledge is power!

A 45 or 90 degree grease nipple won't work. If there is not enough room to attach the coupler, not enough room to spin the grease nipple to thread it in.

Nah, look at the pic up there I posted of the angled zerk, the nipple end unscrews from the zerk hub. So screw the nipple out, screw the hub in on it's own, screw the nipple back on, and that's what's up. Use some thread tape on that hub so there's some play on how deep to screw it in so that the nipple will face out when it's screwed into it.

Anybody know the thread size of these zerks? I don't wanna buy a whole set of them just to swap one zerk.

Actually, those angled zerks would also be handy to swap with the straight ones on the link behind the bucket, those are a pain to reach with a straight grease gun coupler. I had to play around with the bucket angle a little bit to be able to attach the coupler on them.

I agree that a 90 or 45 degree 'zerk' replacement fitting won't work due to trying to screw the new fitting in... it'd just bang up against the obstruction.

So, two solutions come to mind; a 90 or 45 degree 'pop-in' or 'rivet' type 'zerk' (If one even exists for this application) or you bring the 'zerk' to you via an extension: Zerk Fitting Extension Hose - GreaseExtensionHose.com

They will be METRIC..... Probably in range of 8 or 10mm...

Ok, I need to look more thoroughly for those zerks I guess, for the life of me couldn't find it/them there.

As for that hose, it's pretty tight up against that linkage, I could hardly budge it out of the way to get my finger in there with a glob of grease. I don't know which hydro line it is, this is where it attaches (the left one) farther back.

Can somebody take a look sometime under theirs, see if it's the same way?
