99 f350 stalled in interstate today

was running downt he I with a 16' traler and medium tractor ( light load ).. had a lil less than 1/4 of go juice. tried to fill up last night.. but pumps were running real slow.. took 5 minutes for 2 gallons.. and I gave up.. figured I'd get diesel when i got off the interstate.

midway, truck felt sick, began missing, loosing rpm and speed.. eventually pulled me over and shut down. no restart.. waited 10m and it started.. sound likemissing a few cyls.

limped it to the exit ramp and got a buddy to take my trailer home for me. limped over to the fuel station.. calle dmy mechanic, said I might have water OR the end of the fuel pickup came off and I may be sucking air even if I have a lil less than 1/4 tank on the gauge.

i dumped in some power service silver and water remover.. also PS product.. and put in 3/4 tank of biodiesel blend. all they had.

started and ran like crap for 5 minutes. after that sounde dnormal. i took back roads home and had my foot in it.. nevr acted like it had a problem.. like nothing had been wrong ???? I mean I wailed on it. hard acceleration, um.. higher than normal speds

etc.

I hate when that happens

Sounds like the night before when pumping the 2 gallons must have pump in some contaminated fuel,
lucky it was your diesel a gas engine might not of gotten over it quite so easily,

i also have a feeling I got some bad go juice when it was pumping soooo slow. I gave up and left and figured on getting fuel in the am.

i left the house late due to a water leak at the washer machine, and then figured. heck.. 1/4 tank will ge me there, then after the interstate i'll get fuel.

must have sucked trash.. OR.. that fuel pickup thing.

I don't know enough about that fuel tank / pickup to guess either way.

Fuel level might have been lower than it was indicating. You might want to change your fuel filter in case you pulled in some trash from the bottom of your tank.

very possible that what it shows as 1/4 is actually almost empty. my wifes yukon has a very inacurate gauge like that.

Bad fuel. I always buy from large Mega stations that have fresh clean fuel.

I can't quite tell from the way you wrote it but bad running after fill up is usually water and worse in the stations fuel.

Even if a station sells a lot of fuel, don't stop for a fill-up if you see a tanker unloading. It's going to stir up whatever's in the underground tank and if you're filling up you could get a tankful of water and dirt.

I ran her a lil this weekend with -0- issues. never once acted like there was a problem.

I'm guessing bad fuel at this point. I will top her off with more diesel and some more water cleaner and power service when i get a chance.

I think i will take her down to the truck stop to fuel up from now on. that lil station in town that had me pumping forever with almost no fuel mving.. that makes me suspicous that I pumped bad fuel.. a couple gallons anyway.
