Greetings all. My 8n steerig is very tight and hard to turn. Does anyone have any suggestions?? I tried to loosten the adjusters, but the inner screw only turns about 1/2 turn. Im not sure if I should push it, or not, or if it will do anything anyway. Thanks in advance.

I'm assuming you have the late steeing box with sector adjust studs.

did you loosen the locknuts before you tried to turn the studs?

in any event.. if it is already tight. adjusting the studs off will just add backlash.. I'm not sure that's what you want.

jack the front up and see if there is any rise inthe steeirng wheel when you turn... also does it turn freely up? many times spindle bushings will wear and cause hard steeing.

if the thrust bearings are gone and someone honked down on the sector adjusters that will do it to.
