8N original engine deck height

Does anybody know what the original deck height is? We have one that has around .060 shoulder depth and the liners are about .030. We could deck the block but could run into piston/head clearance. Thanks

You could relieve the head by laying it on the deck sans gasket, and put a thin smear of grease on the pistons, and roll over and see where it prints.. Same with valves.

Die grinder and bur work.. He's is easy to cut, quite soft. Cut a lil then re check., rinse, repeat..

After you get it so that it is completely non interference plus a small safety margin with no gasket, then you should be good, hot, with gasket.

Thanks Soundguy, I think we have decided to bore the block, wipe out the shoulder bore and replace the .040 sleeves with .090 and re-cut the shoulders into the block. There will be machine work no matter what we do. Thanks for the help.
