8N key broke in ignition

Hey all - newbie here. My 52 Ford 8N has a key broken off in the ignition switch. Can't pry the broken piece out. How do I get the switch out to take to a locksmith? Thanks!!

Hi. Welcome to TBN

There will either be a threaded hand nut on the front or a bracket on the back to remove the switch.
If it is the original switch might be better to replace it with a generic switch for about $15.

Try to pull it out with the smallest available scroll saw blade, with one blank end broken off.

Done that and it really works!
(Idea did come from TBN.)Use the finest blade you have.
It is sort of like many tiny fish hooks and really works.

You then bring the 2 key parts to a locksmith (or even big box store) and they can copy.
