Looks like the swing cylinders on the 8B are a solid, chrome shaft. The 8A has large chain links extending from the hydraulic cylinder that forces the boom to the left and right.
From your pics, the basic layout looks like -- for the most part -- identical from the 8A to the 8B.
My owner's manual lists the specs for the 8A as;
Boom lift ability -- 400 lbs.
Bucket roll force -- 3,200 lbs. (estimated)
Bucket pry-out force -- in excess of 6,000 lbs.
Operating weight -- less subframe mount and bucket -- 950 lbs.
18in. bucket weight -- 94 lbs.
Digging depth -- 8 ft. 6 in.
Loading height -- 6 ft. 10 in.
Reach for Center line of Swing pivot -- 11 ft. 1 in.
There are other specs, but they're not all that sexy; i.e. stabilizer spread, ground clearance etc.
