850 jd brakes

just bought `88 850 deere tractor....brakes not good at all and when pedals applied has a clacking/ snapping sound any ideas would be appreciated for a remedy....i have been looking for a specific utube video on dissasembly but haven`t found one thanks for any help

A JD850 is really a Yanmar YM2500, just in Deere green paint.
97% of the parts of a YM2500 work and fit on your JD850. They were both made in the same Yanmar factory in Japan.

As for the video on the brakes, Hoye Tractor has one for the Yanmar YM2500.
