850 hours on a TC29D?

Hi all,

I am looking at a TC29D with 850 hours on it. It appears to have been taken care of and does not look like it was abused. I am happy with the price and it has the accessories I want. My only concern is the hours. Any thoughts good or bad? Thanks, -Keith

The "29" is a pretty solid tractor. 850 hours should not be a serious concern if the tractor was reqularly serviced and maintained. Although you have to do a lot of greasing, change a lot of filters, and fluids, etc.; you do not even adjust the valves or the injectors until 600 hours according to the service schedule. Jay

I have a tc 29d with 1400 hours. As long as maintainance was performed, it should be fine.

My gosh man.. 850 hrs is just broke in.. you are getting a 'teenager' tractor that is ready for a full life of work.

It's not uncommon to get 3-4k hours out of a good compact diesel, and 6-12k out of the larger beasts.. maintenance is the key for lifespan..

I have 860 hours on mine, and it's still like new.

I'd hate to think how many hours are on my old tractor. It hasn't had more than a weeks rest since the Korean war.
Maintenance is everything. As long as it was done right it should be ok.
