8454 owners?

Any out there?
I have been doing research and don't see this tractor talked about here. Please respond how this machine works for you and what comparisons you made to this tractor before you purchased.

This particular tractor is made by Kioti (Deadong) for Cub Cadet. They are sold as Kioti in the states labeled DK45. Of course they hare recently be redesigned and are now called the DK45S.

Cub Cadet just out sources these tractor from Kioti and run their colors on them. They are great machines and as long as you feel comfortable with the dealer then you will be happy in the long run.

Is the 8454 the updated machine as well? The local Kioti dealer is $1500 over the Cub Cadet dealer for tractor and loader package.

No, the 8454 is the older style. The newes style is what the Kioti dealer is quoting you.

So is there any other tractor company that also rebadges this tractors and will the Cub version eventually update to the new version?

No, Cub Cadet is the only company that rebadges this Kioti model...or any Kioti model for that matter. This model will never be updated as Cub's compact line-up will be totally new next year and they will not source anything from Kioti.

In all honestly if you like the machine I wouldn't hesitate to buy the Cub. If it being rebadged and being an older model scares you then I would go to the Kioti dealer and take a look at the new DK45S. If you are dead seat on a Cub Cadet then wait till next year.

Thanks for that inside note, I'm not dead set on any tractor or brand yet. Looks like someone could get a good deal from Cub with this model being phased out??
Anyone know what Cub is going with next?, anything this big or bigger?

Gamble, where will Cub outsource their compacts from next year if not Kioti? LG (Montana/Farmtrac) maybe??

Interesting, My first impression of the local dealer was very positive. The lack of response to the initial questions leads me to belive that Cub will not be in the larger CUT market when the 2006 line is intoduced. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif
