\'83 Nighthawk lifter noise

Suggestions please on how to get the hydraulic lifters to quiet down on a 1983 Honda 650 Nighthawk. It takes about 5 minutes for the noises to stop.

It is 21 years old and they may be just worn out. Or they could be gunked up. You could try flushing the system a couple of times and then adjusting the valves but it might just be time to replace them.
