DK45s with cab
The bolt which secures the DK45s cabin door shock absorber to the cab roof snapped. This bolt has threads (which screw into the roof of the cab) with a small ball on top which the shock absorber snaps onto. I only need to replace the threaded bolt/ball but the dealer says kioti requires the entire unit to be purchased - $80. Anybody know where i can purchase just the bolt with the ball on top? or what it's called?

Also, been pulling my hair out on zerks. Finally figured out that my tractor uses 10mm zerks with tapered threads which can't be found anywhere. Anybody have a source or is the best solution to drill the entire hole out to be 10mm straight threads?

thanks, John.

I believe your referring to a lift strut, rather than a shock absorber.

Many automobile manufacturers use bolts with a round end, to snap a strut on to.

I would go to an auto salvage yard and check compatibility.

It is very likely they used an automotive part.

Auto parts store would be my first stop. As for the zerks, my dealer gave me a bunch of replacement zerks after I broke one. They can't be that expensive if he just gave me about 6 of them.

I got some 10mm zerks from The Tractor Supply Store.

I bought some at Fastenal. They were actually cheaper than tractor supply.

I bought a bag of 10mm and 8mm. Cost about $ 5.50/bag of ten.

I bought them too but they don't fit, TSC are straight thread, not tapered.

If you still have the original broken bolt, why not weld it back together and run it through a die to fix the threads.

1/2 half the bolt is still in the cab frame so i need to drill it out...I'm not sure my welding skills are good enough to weld it in place without really messing up the cab frame...actually, i know they are not good enough!

what would you guys use to extract the broken bolt in the frame? its about 1/2" diameter...drill and then use a screw extractor? i never seem to have good fortune with extractors :(

PS... Island Tractor/others...you guys are very knowledgeable...could you take a look at my recent dk45s stalling thread and add your valuable thoughts please?
