7610 post hole digger ?

I have a Kubota 7610 and was looking for a post hole digger for the machine. The local dealer explained that a "normal" post hole digger will not work and it was too long. He would like to sell me a "short" model that he says is for compacts. It is 495 with a bit. I was wondering if anyone has a full size Cat 1 PHD on the 7610 and if it worked? Also what is a good or decent price with a bit.

I would think the B7610 should be find for a regular PHD, the short models are for sub compacts like BX2300.

I bought one from TSC for about $550 which included a 12" auger. It is not one of the better models but it gets the job done for me. I have a B-7800 and when loading it on a trailer the tip drags the ground some. Even on flat ground the auger tip is only about 4 inches off the ground and that is with it set in its highest position. I'm not real sure how the 7610 and the 7800 compare in 3pt lift height though.

Your dealer is wrong. See photo link below for 7610 with regular old Lienbach PHD. It works great. See also this thread.
