I'm an idiot about anything mechanical. So with that in mind, I would like some help figuring out what is wrong with my 7510. Around 6 months ago, it was a bit iffy about staring, however if you nudged the forward and backward pedal around it would eventually start. So at that point it seemed as if there must be a neutral position that closes a circuit allowing for it to start. However now, no matter how much nudging, it doesn't want to turn over. I think the battery is fine, and I'm making sure the switch under the seat is depressed. Any thoughts?

Thanks

when you turn the key on do you hear a click? check your fuses under the left side of the hood, need to take the L side off..

There are many interlocks, One is on the hydro pedal on the rear, hard to see but it can get out of adjustments.... turn the key to start and slowly rock the pedal and you should find the neutral position.

On on the seat, has been known to fail, you can by pass it with a wire to test it, a small white wire connector on the r side under the seat,

the PTO must be in neutral, check that...

Good luck...

Have you tried to jump it post to post on the starter with a screwdriver?

I figured out the problem. Seems that when you move the forward and reverse pedal, there's a piston that extends out when the tractor's in neutral, pushing a button, completing the circuit, allowing the tractor to start. For some reason this piston must not be moving out as far as in the past, so it wasn't pressing the button to make the connection, thus the not starting. Since this piston and the button are in awkward spots, I simply added a wire so it went around this check.

So while this solution works, it seems a bit of a stop gap, and I would like to fix the source of the problem. So does anyone know why the piston might not be extending as far as it used to?

Thanks

there is an adjustment nut but its a PIA to get at. Think you need to remove the tire and fender to get best access....
