I am looking at buying a 7500 (actually the choice is between the 2710 and 7500). Can owners of 7500's tell me how they like their tractors? How much land do you use it on? What do you most commonly use your tractor for? What overall and features do you like about the 7500? What do you dislike?

I've had my 7500 a year now. I own 12 acres of land which include a 1 acre pond and 4 acres of woods. Here's a list of uses and my opinions of performance.
1- mow 3 acres of lawn : very good job, smooth cut.
2- Plow a 400' gravel drive with a 6' rear blade : Needed tire chains with turfs but cleared everything without a problem.
3- Using a rear dirt scoop to dig around pond, driveway and wifes garden : very handy and did more than I expected.
4- 48" KK brush hog : clears brush and small woody plants with ease.
5- Towing a 5'x8' trailer loaded with as much as 1800lbs of pond muck : tractor didn't even grunt.

If I had a dislike it would be no position control. That wound up being something I could live without though.
I looked at a BX22, 7500 and a 2710. The 7500 was my choice because of the extra $4k the 2710 was over the 7500. For my useage I couldn't justify the extra money. I have no regrets.

My B7500HST is a year old. I have a little over 2 acres of lawn, and mow another 5 or so. It has ~ 160 hours on it. Primary use is mowing, some brushhogging and this Winter there was a fair amount of snow to deal with. The FEL saw quite a bit of use moving crushed stone for a couple projects. With the FEL (and toothbar) maintaining the sand volleyball court is a snap. There's a swale to keep cleaned out, heavy things to lift, etc. Don't know how I managed to get along without a FEL all these years. It has been the ideal size for me....................chim

I have had my B7500 since early September. I've put about 130 hours on it. We have some major landscaping that I have been doing with it. I only have 2.5 acres. My primary use will be landscaping, but in preparation I have had to drop several trees and dig up the stumps. I have put in about 250ft. of granite rock wall. I've used it to haul 5000 bricks to be hand laid. I have dug new water lines. I have a pto driven chipper/shredder that I have used with all the limbs, etc., so I now have about 25-30 yards of composting mulch. I have a 3pt. pallet fork so I have all my firewood palletized. This winter I have put away 14 pallets. I have a steep sandy trail that goes to the beach. It erodes every winter and I maintain it with the tractor instead of hiring it out. On the lighter side, every week I take the garbage and recycle out to the road and sometimes I ride it up to get the Sunday paper. (That alone justifies the tractor) I could go on and on about what I use it for, from borderline abuse to simple joy riding. I only have one complaint. The parking brake is hard to engage and just feels a little "flaky" for a well engineered machine like this. Other than that, it is a very powerful machine on a relatively small footprint. It is easy to use and maintain. Good luck with your shopping.

I have 200 hours on my B7500HST, I mow 2-3 acres. I bush 4-5 acres. I have a huge garden that's now on hold (more later in another section). I use the FEL to do whatever it needs to do from carrying tools to moving dirt. I tow my 24' camper about from where it sets to where I clean it up...My B7500 is like duct tape, it has millions of uses.
My only complaint is the airflow. It sucks so much muck into the screens and you really must pay attention to the TEMP guage when it's dusty and/or when lots of stuffies are in the air.

Cchoate:

What type of dirt scoop do you have? How deep can you dig? 6-8"?

I'm thinking of getting one for my future B-7800. I saw one in Northern Tool.

I want it for digging a shallow drainage ditch to direct surface water about 100' toward an existing stream. It appears to be a cheap alternatice to a backhoe (for shallow digging.

My 7500 is only one week young with six hours, (Easter Holiday, so sad) but I can tell you I must have spent ten times that time deciding what machine to buy. I now know I am pleased with the 7500 decision over the BX22 because of the larger size my useses call for. I think that I will be satisfied that I didn't need to go up to the 2710. I couldn't justify the extra cost for my use and I need the backhoe so I saved the tractor $'s and went for the backhoe.

Chris, I don't want to pirate this thread but could you tell me how you are using the Dirt Scoop and could you post a picture? I am not familiar with how to use that attachment.

You need a potato plow, it's made for this.

The dirt scoop or poor mans fel. (In my case, stupid mans fel because I didn't get the fel with my tracor.) This implement is very handy. I can dig anything from heavy pond muck to light mulch. Digs around 6" in a single pass and have dug about a 4' deep overflow for my pond last year. Keep some weight up front to keep from doing wheelies. I made my own for a fraction of what the kubota dealer wants for the suitcase weights.
