$750.00 Rebate from Montana

Last month I bought a 5740 and so far I love it. After my purchase I had the need to call Montana on another matter and in speaking to them I was informed that "Oh, by the way, you'll be receiving a $750.00 rebate."

I was told that the rebate would be sent directly to me by Montana and that the dealer was not involved. During the purchase process my dealer never said a word about a rebate.

Today I was speaking to my dealer who told me that he received the rebate; told me that it was figgured into the selling price.


It was not shown on my contract and it does not sound right to me but then again I have never bought a tractor before. Has anyone else run into this problem?

Where in TX are you? I was just starting to look into Montana and want to make sure I steer clear of that dealer. I am in San Antonio.

Aside from this rebate issue, how do you like your tractor. I'm looking for something in the 30-35 range.

Kipper76, I am located in East Texas so you should not have to deal with this particular dealer. I have talked to several other dealers and they also question what he did. They all seem very responsive to my questions even though I did not buy my tractor from them. So far my dealings with Montana have been very positive. I'll keep you posted on this issue.

This is my first tractor so I have no reference to speak from, but so far I am very happy with it. It has done everything I have asked it to do and I am looking for more. I think at this point my wife has more seat time than I do. She really took to it once she got comfortable with it. LOL

Good luck with your purchase, I think you will like the Montana brand.

Doesn't sound right to me either. The purchase contract would probably have to have a "rebate to dealer" that you agreed to. When I bought a new truck I had them specifically state that any new rebates would be mine; before my truck order came in Ford anounced a $1000 cash back

I would double check your bill of sale / contract and see if that is specifically listed. If it isn't then I would ask Montana for it; they can challenge the dealer. If it was YOUR rebate then why did they send the money to the dealer anyway?
