Tractor
New Holland TV145
I am in the market for 2000s-2013 4x4 tractor in the 75-125hp range. It really depends on the tractor, hours and condition

We have a Kubota dealer about 15 mins away, Massey dealer about 1 hour away, multiple LS dealers within 2 hours
a couple of Deere dealerships within an hour away. Multiple, Kioti and Mahindra dealers are within 2 hours from me.

I usually work on the tractor myself or hire out the work to an independent mechanic if need be

I have had a L4701 and L5740 in the past and they were wonderful.

Does Deere still sell parts for these older units or do they want you to only service through them?

What models should I be looking at and staying away from?

I see a lot of newer LS, Kioti, Mahindras for sale vs Kubota and Deere

How is the fit/finish, reliability, durability, hydraulic, flow / cycle times on the LS, Kioti, Mahindra tractors?

That is such a wide range of horsepower. What tractor weight are you looking for? Deere for instance has utility 5 series as well as bigger ag sized 6 and 7 series in that horsepower range.
So what are intended jobs? What size implements and is it staying in one place or do you intend to trailer it around?

All that being said Deere 6 series tractors from that era are excellent. Parts readily available.

6105R, 6115R, 6125R all are as new a pre emissions as you could get- outstanding machines

yeah I understand that. The wide range is because I might be able to get a better dealer for something in the 125 hp range.

The intended jobs are dirt road maintenance, horse track maintenance, manure hauling, land clearing, misc grading.
I will need a front end loader, box scraper and flail mower.

I will be keeping it on the property and maybe a couple times a year use it at another property of mine

I have a 60 year old John Deere. Any part I've ever needed for it was available either at the John Deere dealer or shipped to them overnight.

5 series Deere or a M series Kubota. M8540 / M9540 with a power shuttle are some great ones.
A little smaller but outstanding would be a M7040.

No New Holland or CaseIH ?
Myself I've always preferred the red or blue since the good green (Oliver) has gone away.

I am open to New Holland or a Case. My only experience with NH is my TV145 and I have not really heard much on case

What models should I be looking at?

Any transmission preferences? Manual? HST? Power Shift? IVT/CVT?

I am open to different transmissions options. A true manual wouldn't be the best fit but a manual with a shuttle shift would be good. I don't know that an IVT/CVT will be in my budget

My issue with Mahindra is not in the operation but the long delays in getting almost any part, keeps the machine out of commission way too long.

@yanmars thank you for that insight. Parts availability was a big concern of mine so that rules them out even though I see a lot of good deals for sale.

I tell people to look very closely at the weight of the tractors you are comparing. Make sure they are similarly equipped when you do so.
Most of the jobs you describe are better & more safely performed with a tractor that is heavier than lighter. In that HP range, you have a lot of brands to choose from. I have always liked the AGCO brands. Massey Ferguson makes a heavy tractor.

@Hay Dude that's a good point. I will take a look at the weight comparisons between the tractors.
I definitely agree the weight makes a big difference for dirt work

Over at the farm there is a PUMA 125 and a New Holland T6050 Deluxe.
The PUMA is common rail injection the NH is mechanical.
The NH has needed just a bit less work on it, the biggest issue with the PUMA is that much of the electronic control came through a wireing harness under the seat. A heavy operator hitting a bump would thump the seat frame onto the wire harness and finally broke a couple of wires which were hard to find.

thank you for the insight on those tractors. That's interesting that they ran the wires were they could damaged.

There a few M7040s and 7060s around, is it feasible to add a 3rd function to them?
one of them has 2 rear remotes and the other 3 remotes but they both have similar hours and pricing within $5k of each other

how problematic are the 7060s with the DPF filter?
