7308 loader mounts

Does anyone have space between the front mount hooks of the loader and the horizontal tubes on the front tractor mounted bracket? The hooks are adjustable for and aft, but mine are adjusted all the way back and I still have about 1/2 inch of space there. The dealer said not to worry about it, but I have to believe that when I plow into a pile of dirt or whatever, the front hooks take some of the loading.
