My dealer says he can put a spear in the bucket with a plate in the bed of the bucket. It will mount on with the "grips?" on the blade of the bucket and a 5/8" bolt. He will cut a hole in the plate and bucket for the hold down bolt. Anyone think this would compromise the integrity/ strength of the bucket? I am concerned about this and would like some feedback. Thanks.

I don't think a 5/8" hole will compromise the integrity of the bucket. (It wasn't clear whether you were referring to the hole or the entire attachment method) However, concentrating all the weight of a bale on lip of the bucket, even with a plate, might. The weight of the bale will try and rotate the entire arrangement with the center of rotation being midway between the bolt and the lip of the bucket. Upward force on the bolt, downward force on the lip of the bucket, spread across the width of the plate. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Does your dealer have anyone else using this arrangement?
