I would keep looking and possibly look at a new unit..It looks weathered, and its a 1995 and the price is high somewhat...
It comes down to how well maintained and can it be proven
IMHO of course....

I can't afford a new unit. Especially with the hoe. Based on being 9 years old. It has just over 100 hours per year.

I'm not familiar with CC's.

But under $10K for a CUT with FEL and backhoe would be tempting.

Will seller give some kind of warranty?

I'm working on that now. I am also trying to get the price down lower. There is another Cub just like it near me with 2200 hours and well worn. The guy wants $8900.00 for it. There is no backhoe with it. Here is a picture of that one.

I think the Cub is an excellent tractor, tuff, powerful, etc., does a good job and should keep up with comparable HP sized/weight of other tractors. That said this one looks like it definitely has been used, probably by a contractor of some kind I would imagine. That doesn’t mean it was abused but definitely probably used to its potential. It looks like the bucket has been modified with some sort of extension which to me means he wanted to pick up more than the OEM bucket could carry. If that was light stuff, mulch, leaves etc. that wouldn’t have abused it, if it was much heavier material it would have put much more stress on the tractor. I also notice that the front and rear tires don’t match, landscape on the rear and R4’s? on the front. Probably no biggy just wonder about the match. If I you could get the history, maybe owners name and number, maybe even a warranty I might be inclined to go for it. At 1200 hours it probably has a lot of hours left in it if those weren’t 1200 heavily abusive hours. I think I would stay away from the 2200 model. One last think in your dickering I would either get the dealer to do a complete service on the tractor, new filters, (Oil/Hydraulic/Fuel), all new oil fluids, torques on the critical bolts, etc, “or” get him to knock the cost of that material to do it yourself. The service isn’t hard, a few hours of work, but the cost of the filters, oil and hydraulic fluids, fresh antifreeze is probably in the $250-300 range. If he isn’t a Cub dealer, find one in the area, or here in Maine, and tell them you want a complete service on the 7275 and you’ll see how high the bill would be. There are two dealer here in Maine, Watermans and R. C. Hazelton. Hazelton is also in NH I believe. If you need the 800 number let me know.

Jim,
I've got a 7264 with a loader and hoe and love it.
That said, I'd check the pins and bushings on the hoe and loader.
Operate both and see how much "slop" there is. Pins and bushings last a long time if properly maintained.(greased)
If not , they wear quickly. To replace them is costly.
If you're not experienced, do you know anyone that works with "dirt" equipment that could help you look ?
Just a thought.

MajMac, Have you used Hazelton for parts or service? They are the dealer that I visited to purchase a 7360 and the sales manager (manchester) could hardly be bothered to talk to me. So I never went back. I ended up buying mine from a JD dealer in Alabama.

I have heard good things about Waterman's, although it is a drive for me. FM Abbott is the closest dealer to me. He's in Waterboro, but his parts prices are straight out of the book (high).

I want to thank you all for your comments. I am waiting for a reply from the dealer. I won't buy it without some type of written gauranty. I use to own a Ford 8N with a loader and backhoe. I tore that tractor apart many times to change the rear housing (cracked the housing in half), sheared ring and pinion (rivets are soft and give out easily), snapped axle shafts (too heavy a backhoe). The 8N was not really built for the type hoe or loader that was on it. I sold it a few years back after shearing the pinion bolts again. My clutch knee also gave out. The 8N is not a machine for clutching all the time. I can do most of my own repair work. I spent 1970-1980 as a mechanic working on cars and large trucks. I still do all my own repair work.

Rozett,

There is an R C Hazelton in Yarmouth and that was where the first time I saw that pretty yellow color. They were high though and I kept looking until I bought in Freedom, NH. I have bought just a couple of things, some oil and matching paint from Hazelton and I felt they were a bit pricey. They carried a lot of heavier equipment so I don't think the Cub line was there priority. Waterman's I think the owner is Don Waterman is a "Good old boy" and wants top dollar from even junk but then so do most dealers. I priced tractors with him when I started looking, he gave me a high price and I said thank you and left. He called me back a week or so later and wanted to know if we could deal so I told him I he was much higher than other prices on tractors I had priced. He came back with something like, "Oh that was just a starting price I could probably do much better". If I remember Bob Battles at Landpower don't think to much of him if I remember right. That said I have ordered a few things, pins for my BH loader and something else. His parts prices were better than Hazelton so I used him. For your info and IH Crules Watermans is having there Annual Open House on April 6 from 9 - 6. I think they will have pancakes in the AM maybe other eats if you are interested.
