I think the Cub is an excellent tractor, tuff, powerful, etc., does a good job and should keep up with comparable HP sized/weight of other tractors. That said this one looks like it definitely has been used, probably by a contractor of some kind I would imagine. That doesn’t mean it was abused but definitely probably used to its potential. It looks like the bucket has been modified with some sort of extension which to me means he wanted to pick up more than the OEM bucket could carry. If that was light stuff, mulch, leaves etc. that wouldn’t have abused it, if it was much heavier material it would have put much more stress on the tractor. I also notice that the front and rear tires don’t match, landscape on the rear and R4’s? on the front. Probably no biggy just wonder about the match. If I you could get the history, maybe owners name and number, maybe even a warranty I might be inclined to go for it. At 1200 hours it probably has a lot of hours left in it if those weren’t 1200 heavily abusive hours. I think I would stay away from the 2200 model. One last think in your dickering I would either get the dealer to do a complete service on the tractor, new filters, (Oil/Hydraulic/Fuel), all new oil fluids, torques on the critical bolts, etc, “or” get him to knock the cost of that material to do it yourself. The service isn’t hard, a few hours of work, but the cost of the filters, oil and hydraulic fluids, fresh antifreeze is probably in the $250-300 range. If he isn’t a Cub dealer, find one in the area, or here in Maine, and tell them you want a complete service on the 7275 and you’ll see how high the bill would be. There are two dealer here in Maine, Watermans and R. C. Hazelton. Hazelton is also in NH I believe. If you need the 800 number let me know.
