I'm starting my search on this topic as I fear that my cub will need this within the next year? So, I did a search in this forum only for the word "Clutch" and came up with 3 pages of threads.... 10+ of them looked promising to read.....
then I did a similar thing here:
Type: Posts; Keyword(s): clutch replacement; Forum = Parts/Repairs and child forums

and oh my word... 20 pages of threads... looks like I'll need to refine that search eh?

Best of luck on your searchs. My cub just started to slip in "H"-3rd gear run around the back yard then on up the hill. still no issues in the M & L gears thankfully.

Did you ever get into doing the clutch work?

Nope. With everything else in life, it's beenpaused because M & L ranges are still working good enough tt only on rare occurrence fo I put in H for a quick zip around the yard.....

I just did a full engine swap on my '98 7265 which should be similar.
You have to "split" the tractor. Search for that on youtube and find a .pdf of your manual.

1. Remove implements and cap hydraulics.
2. Remove sides, hood, and front sheet metal.
3. Remove dashboard sheetmetal and steering tower cover.
4. Unplug all electrics.
5. Disconnect and mark steering hydraulics.
6. Support transmission with jackstands or similar.
7. Support engine on mobile dolly like a floor jack.
8. Put wood shims on both sides between forward frame and MFD axle. So engine doesn't tip over.
9. Disconnect forward driveshaft.
10. Remove all bolts between transmission and engine. Get the top two under the steering column.
11. Roll the front away from the rear. THERE'S THE CLUTCH!
12. Replace the clutch, etc.
13. Reverse it all.

looks like I will finally be doing this in the late spring to early summer.

as for what parts cost.... holy cow! I'm a gearheaded geek and I dare suggest that the "kit" its a bunch of needed worn out parts as well as others that very likely need a cleaning and not to be replaced. but, what do I know....
