I was working outside today and turned the tractor off while I was loading the carryall with split rail fencing. When I went to start it back up, I turned the key, it energized and then it quit. No power at all to the panel, lights, etc., except that I could hear a slight buzz when I moved the turn signals.

I checked battery, fuses, line fuses, etc. No joy, still as dead as a doornail. Any thoughts or ideas on where to go from here would be much appreciated.

Try jump starting it. If that works, replace your battery.

Thanks for your reply.
Here's what I found just a few minutes ago. I had cleaned and tightened the battery terminals after checking the fuses. Then put the battery charger on. After your postings I went out to check the charger and found that it was "charged" . Then for the heck of it I turned the key. Same result, energize then dead. That sent me back to the battery and the cables.

I found that even though I had tightened the bolts on both cables the bolt on the positive terminal had broken in half and was just tightening to one side of the terminal. Put a clamp on to test and voila off she went. Success....

Thanks for your help.
