Planters 71 Flexi planter

I've been looking for a planter, mostly for sweet corn. I like the vacuum matermacs but quite expensive. I've run across a couple JD 71 Flexi planters. How good a job do they do, 90% single seed planting? How much seed is left in the chamber/hopper when it won't pick up anymore seed? When was production stopped? Any insight on this planters performance would be appreciated.
