7040 or 8540

Just remember to use your seatbelt. I've known several families who have lost sons on farms around here and across the border in Canada. None of them thought that a belt was needed because you are going slow. It's usually because they tried to jump away from or as it started to tip they fell off the tractor and ended up crushed. One wasn't found for 12 hours because he didn't tell anyone beforehand where he was working and it was late in the day.

Interesting...Decided on the 8540 and called the dealer and agreed to meet this am to pay. Loaded my Mahindra 6000(8500# with loader and tires) and drove 30 miles. When signing contract noticed the cash discount was not applied(800) he told me that he could not sell that low. This was after several hours of negot. two days before. The prior neg. was for the 0% financing. I drove home, Mahindra still behind me. Any thoughts?

I would go to the owner of the dealership and tell him what the salesman is trying to pull and if the owner didn't do anything about it I would high tail it to another Kubota dealership. Good luck, hope everything works out for you.

BCNU, One step ahead of you,I went to the owner and he is the instigater. He stated he shouldn't have quoted that price and he wouldn't honor it. Mind you I had called the day before to tell them I was coming and they did not inform me then nor did they inform me during signing until I noticed the price difference.

Since it looks like you are ready to purchase I would go to the next nearest Kubota dealer and make a deal then. They were hopeing you would just sign the papers and not notice it sounds like. If it were a honest dealer they should honor what they told you or told you before you came in that they made a mistake in priceing and you could have maybe came to an agreement on a price say like split the $800.00 or something. Good luck hope everything works out for you and you and your son are working that new Kubota soon !

Discount doesn't come out of his pocket. Kubota is footing that incentive unless I am mistaken. Just as the 0%.

Dealer gone wild... WKUB-TV.

If you're not hurting or itching, I'd keep the Mahindra behind me for a while.

US$0.02

update, went to different dealer today-great place. He honored the previous dealers price, didn't have an 8540 but found one with an extra set of remotes and cast rims and the cost is still only2200 difference then the 7040. I hope to take delvery in 2 days. Very exiting and if I can figure out how to post pics I'll do it. MARK
